Vintage 2011 description:
A tiny production of just 7,600 cases makes this 2011 vintage of Haut-Brion one of the market’s most searched for. The wine itself is textbook Haut-Brion: 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 19% Cabernet Franc, which dances beautifully across the palette. Unlike some other First Growths, Haut-Brion has never had a bad period and, in our opinion, is the most consistently great wine of Bordeaux. Full in body with super-integrated tannins, this brilliant 2011 vintage evolved quickly in the first years of its life, hitting its drinking window in 2018. It will drink beautifully for 20-25 years.
Producer description:
A superlative wine by any measure, investment-wise Château Haut-Brion offers some of the best returns of the 20th century. Certain vintages are legendary – the 1945 or the 1989 for example. Well, what else would you expect from one of the original fab four First Growths? This is an estate that ticks all the boxes – quality, terroir, classification, not to mention their textbook perfect, full-bodied reds. It goes without saying that this is a wine that regularly receives rave reviews and perfect 100 point scores. Whatever the vintage, it always tips the scales at 95+ points. As if that wasn’t enough, Château Haut-Brion has shown incredible potential and outstanding performance throughout the last three decades. Mix it all together and you have yourself a jewel for either your table or your portfolio.
