Chapter 3: Honey of the Gods
One day - it wasn’t a very particularly special one when it began - but on that day, a seed was planted.
In the back of the gameroom, where deals were dealt, and coins were bet, five bears sat playing their daily game of poker. Their names were King, Skipper, Spur, Flamingo Don (aka Don Mingo), and Payuh.
“Heard from Culler, the janitor, about some rare honey found on an island next to the Bearmuda Triangle,” said Payuh, the Hawaiian bear. “I’ve never heard of it, but now I want it.”
“Okay Honey is the nectar of the gods - there’s nothing in the world that’s better than what we have. Impossible,” scoffed Don Mingo, the pink-furred boss. “Culler’s making things up. We all know he’s prohibited from our honey fountain ‘cause he’s a criminal.”
Payuh refuted, “But aren’t you curious to find out?”
A silence fell in the room, as the possibility of more and better grew increasingly enticing. We all know a bear’s weakness: they never want to miss out.
“How would we even get there?” King pondered loudly, shining his gold fur.
Skipper chimed in, “My yacht is still sitting by the bay. I don’t know how to drive it, or control it - but it can’t be that hard, eh?”
