[This work has been airdropped to all bidders of the 'Kingdom of the Dreamer' exhibition on Foundation.]
"Kingdom of the Dreamer" is an ode to storytelling by DocT and draws inspiration from Grimms' Household and Children's Tales, which the artist was reading to his own children during the creation of this series.
Revisiting these tales as an adult is a wonderful way to reconnect with the stories of your own childhood. The works are also a reflection on the cultural function of fairy tales and how they address universal themes of survival, caution, resilience, and moral dilemmas through fantastical narratives and metaphor.
In Grimm's Fairy Tales, flowers hold profound symbolic meaning. They represent the delicate emotions and vulnerability of the protagonists. Their beauty, juxtaposed with their fleeting nature, can be interpreted as a symbol for the passage of human life. Occasionally, the fragrance of flowers takes center stage, and its power to evoke emotions and memories with immediacy. Flowers have the power to awaken long-buried recollections and open hearts when words fail.
They serve as vessels of emotion, connecting characters and readers alike to the deeper layers of the fairy tale and perhaps their own childhood memories. They take us to a place within ourselves, in which the ephemeral meets the eternal and where the Lord of Flowers reigns.

Process and media:
Each work is the outcome of a specifically designed multi-step process, which includes the creation of a series of base images with differing AI tools, the partial blending of the base images, and comprehensive post-editing using Photoshop and other editing tools. In brief, the process engages with techniques of digital collage as a means to create highly personal and emotionally charged works.
