This PDF contains my handwritten notes with techniques for creating generative systems in modular synthesizers. At one point, I became obsessed with finding techniques to create generative systems in VCV Rack. These notes show how to simulate “intelligence” by drawing inspiration from cybernetics and artificial intelligence ideas, to create chaotic systems with emergent characteristics useful for musical composition, such as creating rhythms, sounds, melodies, and textures. These notes have a touch of Codex Seraphinianus vibes.
