Piranesi. Fields of chain. is a unique generative architectural project by MABLAB, that bridges cultural foundations of the past and the future, by offering a modern interpretation of the iconic work of the Enlightenment era, the Ichnographia Campo Marzio (1762), by Giovanni Battista Piranesi.
1669 compositions representing fields of urban landscape.
Compositions include: Centro, Nord, Sud, Est, Ovest.
Founded in a thorough examination of Piranesis legacy and various interpretations, MABLABs endeavour, Piranesi. Fields Of Chain., was initially conceived as academic research in 2016.
Transcending the boundaries of conventional architecture and engaging with the past in a highly artistic and sophisticated way, MABLAB reimagines Piranesis work as a generative architectural project, exploring Piranesis penchant for randomness in architectural creation and infusing it with contemporary relevance.
