Imagination and memory are so easily confused as they intertwine and weave, melting across dimensions. I invite the viewer to imagine the world i am creating as they would perceive it, in order to gain an external perspective, in search of similar patterns of thought. I want to hear what they experience beyond the parameters of the image, the strange creatures they encounter and what lessons they took away.
I believe there is an infinite realm entirely detached from reality, accessible to those who can cleanse their thoughts and pierce the thin veil. Our minds are frequently distorted through the ever expanding bulge of culture and society and I imagine, upon reaching this space through the creative process, there is a sign which paradoxically reads both beginning and end; the point in which the work is completed, the proverbial boat sets out to sea, the depths of which are both sublime and limitless.
In this piece ‘Biomorphic Blues’ I have heard the pianist perform a thousand silent songs of madness, activating and illuminating the mental landscape into existence.
