Elise was born to a noble family in a small kingdom ruled by a cruel and paranoid queen. When she was only five, her parents were executed for daring to oppose the queen. Her older sister, who was also persecuted by the queen, took Elise in and raised her in secret. When Elise was sixteen, her sister was caught and killed, and Elise barely escaped with her life. She fled to the forest, where she met a group of rebel thieves who took her in. Elise learned to fight and Survival skills from the thieves, and quickly proved herself to be a valuable member of their team. Her natural charisma and talent for manipulation also came in handy when it came time to deal with other groups or leaders. She quickly rose through the ranks until she became the leader of the group. Under her leadership, the group began to take on bigger jobs, and they soon became famous throughout the kingdom for their skill at thievery and espionage. They began working against the queen directly, stealing from her treasury and sabotaging her plans. The final straw came when Elise stole a priceless jewel from the queen's collection and publicly humiliated her by selling it back to her at an outrageous price. The queen declared open war on Elise and her band of thieves. Elise knew that she couldn't win a direct confrontation, so she focused on survival and evasion. She led her team on a series of daring raids against the queen's forces, always staying one step ahead of them. As the conflict dragged on, public opinion turned against the queen, until finally Elise had enough support to overthrow her completely. She took control of the kingdom and rule as its rightful queen.
