surprisingly hard to part with something you never asked for. this piece represents the removal of my chemo port after three years of being together. when it was originally placed in 2018, my artery was unknowingly nicked and went unnoticed for several hours. that mistake ultimately led to a whole 'nother battle and today i get to close a chapter in this story with the removal of my port. luckily i've been in remission since dec 2018 and we are all crossing our fingers that another port will never be needed.
