This 15s/4K/60fps video loop illustrates one of a collection of grand scale Dreamscapes that explore multi-level dreaming effects. These works begin with a detail of one of my panoramic images to which multiple styles of neural network hallucination are applied at multiple scales. The physical manifestation of this work is currently installed in Google’s NYC flagship office in Chelsea as a 96” x 144” fabric light box. The original artwork on which this video was based, “Bow Bridge Dreamscape,” fuses computational photography and artificial intelligence; specifically, it consists of a 42-shot, 240-megapixel HDR panorama I captured in Central Park in April 2013 that was interpreted in two discrete passes at two different scales (hence the term “double dose”) by a proprietary enhanced version of Google’s “DeepDream” AI software in February 2019.
