描述
"3ECTION" is an architectural booklet that explores the topic of decentralized living. The ever-growing presence and importance of virtual, that is digital dimension as a collective, public space results in new types of single and community living spaces. The infinite space built on top of electric and digital infrastructure can be accessed only from couple of square meters of essential necessity.
Contemporary, traditional and mainstream architecture acts in most of the cases as an eye candy, instrument to inspire desire rather to meet the actual needs of comfort and genuine experience in the digital and global world. The traditional housing and construction are not efficient enough to keep up with the development of digital spaces and the metaverse.
Pushing the idea of decentralization means also decentralized living space, physical space intertwined with the blockchain technology. There is a huge variety of potential organization of living spaces in the cases of individual or all sort of group living in the context of blockchain technology. Smart contracts, DAOs can operate the building and maintain the operation and communication between the users.
The Blockchain Hotel would have no workers but the whole building would operate through the smart contract technology. Maintenance, occupation, utilization of the spaces of the hotel would all be operated on a trustless system and the building itself will become a sort of autonomous organism. The whole concept of individual and collective housing and cohabitation and architectural and urban planning practice can be reimagined in the context of blockchain technology to provide more healthy and efficient spaces.
"3ECTION" can be read as an architectural project and a starting point for generating ideas. It can be used for inspiration, exploration and story telling. It can also be used as a mind map. And also it can be used as an pure artwork that combines the designs or architectural design and somewhat mix of postmodern/neomodern experience, the post dystopic realization and conformation of the nothingness behind the horizon.
It is done on in high resolution so it can be printed on the large formats or exported in any desirable ways.
