The courtship begins with a sultry, knowing glance shared between two strangers as he catches her eye — and the glimmer in his eyes informs her that she has his attention too. From afar, she beckons with a long, spindly arm; responding to the alluring invitation, he slowly scuttles over to play the role of both lover and prey. As he carefully approaches her inhabitance, he gets a closer look at this enchantress — he’s mesmerised by her slender limbs, hanging off a curvy, feminine torso, with a discreet but unmistakeable hourglass tattooed on her belly. He would never admit to being intimidated by her dominating presence, and so he soldiers on into her warm embrace. Soon they are writhing all over one another, contorted naked bodies making love furiously, fuelled by an animalistic desire of hormones and lust. Then the act of passion ends just as quickly as it started; and once intertwined as a single entity, the two bodies now separate, accentuating just how dwarfed he is in comparison to his lover. Yet there is still one part of the mating ritual left to complete. “It’s not you, it’s me..” she says apologetically, tears in her eyes. “Thank you for your sacrifice.” Then she sinks her fangs into his neck, ripping the head clean from the body, beginning to devour her mate whose corpse will provide the necessary nutrients for the next generation of black widow spider babies.
