描述
I keep it caged, this beast within,
The howling growls puncture my skin.
It beats its chest, breathes fire from its eyes.
Can I outrun it, or imprison it, shackled and tied?
Pulling, struggling, with each hungry roar
Powerful, ferocious, it smashes down the door
This shrouded veil of my soul is thin,
The beast feeds off my mind, drinks off my skin.
It moves with stealth, glides through the night,
Remorseless, snarling, just out of sight
I scream, I struggle, straining against my will,
For this beast rests within me, the one I cannot kill.
She moves like beauty, she whispers to us of wind and forest—and she tells us stories, such stories that we wake in the night, dreaming dreams of a life long past. she reminds us of what we used to be.
In these dreams, Sometimes, I am the beast in this darkness. Sometimes, I am the ghost.
Because inside me is a beast that snarls, and growls, and strains toward freedom.. and as hard as I try, I cannot kill it
