Willow was born to a family of poverty in the slums of a large city in the middle of a great kingdom. Willow's mother died giving birth to her, and her father was killed in a tavern brawl not long after. Willow was raised by her grandparents, who were kind but poor. They did the best they could, but with no money and little food, they often went to bed hungry. When Willow was old enough, she began stealing food to help her family. She was caught several times, but she was always able to talk her way out of it. Her skills with words and persuasion were clear even then. When Willow was sixteen, her grandfather died of a cough that wouldn't go away. Her grandmother died soon after of a broken heart. With no one left to care for her, Willow fend for herself. She continued stealing to survive, but she also began helping others who were in need. She would distract the guards while others picked pockets or helped themselves to the food on market stalls. She quickly gained a reputation as someone who could be trusted and who would help anyone in need - no questions asked. One winter, when food was scarce and many people were starving, Willow helped organize a rebellion against the king's taxes. The people rose up and barricaded the streets, refusing to let anyone pass until the king agree to lower the taxes and provide relief for those who were suffering. The king eventually capitulated, and Willow became something of a folk hero. Willow continued to help others throughout her life, using her skills as a cleric to heal the sick and injured and using her silver tongue to talk people out of difficult situations. She became known as the 'Willow Wisp' - a ghostly figure who would appear out of nowhere to help those in need before disappearing just as quickly. She remains an inspiration to many even today, almost 200 years after her death.
