Madeleine Lavoie was born of humble beginnings in a small village in the middle of nowhere. She was an illegitimate child, her mother a serving wench in the local tavern and her father one of the many knights who passed through on their way to glory and adventure. Growing up, she was always looked down upon by the other children, who called her names and made fun of her ragged clothing. But Madeleine didn't let their words bother her - she knew she was special, destined for great things. And she was right. When she was thirteen, Madeleine started having visions. At first they were just snippets - a glimpse of the future here, a premonition of someone's death there. But as time went on, they became more clear, more detailed. She saw things that no one else could see, and she soon realized that she had a Gift. From then on, Madeleine began to help her village however she could with her visions. She warned them of impending danger, helped them find lost livestock, and even saved lives with her predictions. Everyone in the village came to respect and revere her as the Soothsayer, and no one ever made fun of her again. As she grew older, Madeleine's Gift only grew stronger. She started seeing things from far away - events that were happening in other parts of the world, people in need of help. And so she set out on a journey to use her Gift to make a difference in as many lives as possible. She has since helped countless people with her predictions and counsel, and is known throughout the land as one of the most powerful seers alive. Wherever she goes, people flock to hear what she has to say about their future - and they are never disappointed.
