13/05/20 – Huayllay, Cerro De Pasco – 4,380 M.A.S.L
During one of the world’s most severe lockdowns in Peru, being stuck in my house with no option of going out after 4 months, I decided to make contact with my friend Alcibiades who guards the Rock Forest of Huayllay. I gathered a lot of cloths for donations to the people that lived in the most isolated parts of this place, where temperature drops at -15° at night.
My reward was a warm welcome and getting to witness these crepuscular rays which are shafts of light that are seen just after the sunset and which extend over the western sky radiating from the position of the sun below the horizon. They form only when the sun has set behind an irregularly shaped cloud or mountain which lets the rays of the sun pass through a cloud in bands.
I can´t describe how powerful and grateful I felt when archiving this after being isolated, depressed and stuck.
