08/01/22 – Huallay, Cerro De Pasco – 4,340 M.A.S.L The first trip of the year was during rainy season, the roads were in a bad state, flooded and broken. As soon as we arrived to Huayllay, this majestic rainbow appeared. According to pre-Hispanic chronicles, the rainbow appears as an axis, but, in the case of the Incas, this axis made the governing person the chief of the community, endowing supernatural power. The Rainbow was a protective divinity of the Incas. The stories and cultural heritage give a soul to the places I visit, they are like a blueprint of Eco’s that pass-through space and time to tell an ancient story. A rainbow is caused by sunlight and atmospheric conditions. Light enters a water droplet, slowing down and bending as it goes from air to denser water.
