Seeing a cat playing with catnip, I think I witnessed the creature's instinct to play with randomness.
I create generative drawing works that emerge spontaneously from my own conditions and environmental circumstances. This time, I asked the cat to join in.
In generative art, random numbers create complex forms and various variations. The randomness of the work amuses the viewer and encourages him or her to enter a pre-linguistic state or mode. I believe this is the core of the appeal of generative art. The same can be said for abstract drawings.
There is no need to use consciousness to feel a little petty like this sentence. Enjoy, surrender, be enthusiastic, affirm, it is random.
