“Daughters of Freedom” by David Allen Burns and Austin Young / Fallen Fruit (https://fallenfruit.org/)
“Daughters of Freedom” is created in honor of women’s rights, in support of equality
and freedom; the freedom to be who you are, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, and
to be recognized with equality, equity, and respect by everyone (including the
government). The highest form of humanity resides in all people, all of the time -- and
together, we make the world an extraordinary place. The world is a continual
collaboration of all living things that requires full and equal participation.
Venus Di Milo within a pattern of roses and a soundscape of birds and early American
suffragette song. The statue represents the feminine, silent beauty, and persistence of
power -- however her arms are missing. The roses symbolize many things; romance,
love, beauty, courage, purity, gratitude, friendship, and new beginnings -- many of the
ideals of Western Culture.
“Daughters of freedom arise in your might! March to the watchwords Justice and Right!
Why will ye slumber? wake, O wake! Lo! on your legions light doth break! Sunder the
fetters "custom" hath made! Come from the valley, hill and glade!”- George Cooper ,
