An Observation made within Sam Spratt's "IX. The Monument Game" - "Sho-sho ride" my son used to request at the age of 2. His little legs and feet could only carry him so far.
Now 2 years later, he clearly articulates his request, "Daddy, could I please have a shoulder ride?" His endearing, unique expressions have given way to a nearly impeccable grammar.
Those little fleeting moments slip through our fingers, leaving only memories.
I am proud of him and the amazing person he is becoming. Yet occasionally I find myself yearning for one more "sho-sho ride."
