描述
I am living in the moment, completely absorbed by the present activity.
Time seems to just slip away. I am beyond tired; my body is aching and frozen, but I barely notice. It has been a long, hard day, but the worst of it is behind me. I am in the home stretch now.
Gazing into the sunset, I feel serene. Any sign of ego or self-consciousness has faded away; it is just me in this moment of time. My legs don't want to continue, but my mind and my heart are pushing me forward. It will get dark soon, and I have to get home.
The last rays of sunlight disappear over the horizon. The temperature instantly drops significantly. I arrive on the final ridge and exhale in relief. I ride down the final descent by headlamp as the stars start to sparkle above. Even though I am exhausted, I am fulfilled, relishing in the success of the adventure.
Days like these are when I feel most alive. Pushing myself to my physical edge and achieving a state of flow. They are intrinsically rewarding and leave me with an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and happiness. This is what I live for.
