i grew up near this bridge called stuckey's bridge and i remember a lot of people were afraid to go out there. some of us did anyway, drank our miller high life, and just had fun hanging out.
anyway, the legend is that there's a dude named stuckey from the a gang who ran an inn nearby. the tale was that he'd murder his guests and dump their bodies along the river. after murdering about twenty folks, his opps figured out the murdere was stuckey and they lynched and hung him on the same bridge he did his dirty work near. since then, people claim the place is haunted. they say you might see an old man with a lantern by the river, hear a big splash like stuckey's body hitting the water, or even spot his hanging figure. there's been paranormal TV shows like episode 19 of The Most Haunted Places in America on Travel Channel that covered all of this if you're interested in learning more.
