Facing the constant flow of information, the Dude keeps walking towards the depth of the internet : The Metaverse. Freeing himself from the window he came with, the Dude enters an aggregation of structured data shaped to become easily familiar and welcoming. But the way forward is obstructed by pop ups windows - the same kind that brought himself to life - each fighting for its own persistence. His only weapon to survive is a huge pointer. Unfortunately, using it breaks the illusion of his self being, as someone else seems to control it. He has no choice but to merge in one of the windows, the one that will entertain his fantasy of being alive : a Metaverse. This piece features various computer windows with application UX such as a live bitmex exchange, a twitter feed, a login dialog box, the infamous offline Chrome Dino Runner game, the ethereum wallet metamask popup, the artwork « Invest on Digital Art Infomercial » (courtesy of Abysms), and a view from CryptoVoxel near the Voxel Hotel by Alotta Money. The landscape of zeros and ones are forming a tunnel. They are the binary translation of a quote of Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson (1992) : « He is not seeing real people, of course. This is all a part of the moving illustration drawn by his computer according to specifications coming down the fiber-optic cable. The people are pieces of software called avatars. They are the audiovisual bodies that people use to communicate with each other in the Metaverse » On the ground, the Dude is stepping on a front end webgl code. As internet will always have secrets to reveal, the piece contains the twelve words of a seed phrase, which give access to an ethereum wallet. In that wallet is waiting the 13th edition, it will belong to the one able to see through the clouds of zeros and ones.
