Yesterday marked 50 years of Earth Day, a response to our environment in crisis. Today, as yesterday, Earth is our home. As all astronauts experience from their overview in outer space, all is connected in our living planet. For first time in human history, billions of us are in a lockdown of a planetary scale. The coronavirus pandemic warns us that we need respect the natural world of which we are part. Human species can't continue to ignore the links between infectious diseases and the destruction of natural world. As has been pointed clearly this days, "our health and wellbeing as a species are linked to how we define our place in nature. A global economic system based on the explotaition of nature will fail." Human values like freedom, compassion, respect of others, cooperation, and shared knowledge have allowed overcome all evolutionary challenges. Now we need them to adapt to nature's regenerative systems, for a global reboot.
