Evolved from a self portrait of the hodlgoddess Belle, this body of work is the founding creation of her self titled series; "A Melanin Overdose"; an art series which marked the beginning of her mother collection known as "Back to Origins" and is made up of portraits boldly depicting the quintessence of beauty in the color of her own skin and it's "telepathic power" which has the ability to answer the question of her heritage before she utters a single word; i.e, this overdosed melanin (a pigment majorly responsible for the darkening of one's skin, hair and eye color") she possesses in her dark skin can be likened to a visual identification tool which transmits unspoken infomation about her identity to whoever sees her; hence an outright declaration on her true origin of african ancestry is made known everyday by the color of her skin.
