Digital Fabric Swatch for Little Bird, 2023 Little Bird is a reinterpretation and appreciation of historical paintings through a modern lens with digital tools (Procreate). Seen: Inspiration drawn from Palladium Dress, Gianfranco Ferré, Christian Dior, Haute Couture/Summer 1992 - the Palladium dress was a tribute to Greek architecture, with off shoulder sleeves mirror a pillar’s volutes and pleated sheath. The Palladium dress also served as inspiration for Sailor Moons Princess Serenity gown. “Any figure that wears white in Japanese is somehow a liminal figure - one who stands both in real world and the world beyond….In Japanese colours, the binary isn’t black and white, but white and red.” The Haute Couture History of Sailor Moon, Angelica Frey, Jezebel, 2020 Sailor Moon tells the story of a 14 year old moon princess, who fights evil aliens under the disguise of Sailor Moon.
