Cecile Renard was born to a poor family in the outskirts of a small village in medieval France. When she was five, her parents were killed by an ogre while they were out hunting. Cecile was found by a group of traveling musicians who took her in and raised her as their own. As she grew, Cecile developed a strong interest in the magical arts. She would often sneak off to watch the village witch doctor perform his rituals. When she was thirteen, the witch doctor took her on as his apprentice. For the next six years, Cecile learned everything he could about magic and healing. At nineteen, Cecile left her village to go out into the world and learn more about magic. She had many adventures and made many friends (and enemies) during her travels. Eventually, she settled down in a small cabin in the woods outside of a village called Eggleston. There she met a young man named Simon who became her apprentice. Together, Cecile and Simon helped the people of Eggleston by using their magic to heal the sick and drive away evil spirits. They became known as the Witch Doctor and Simon, and their names were spoken with reverence throughout the land.
