Dahlia Nguyen was born to a noble family in the heart of the empire. Her parents were both skilled magicians and her father served as the court enchanter. From a young age, Dahlia was tutored in the magical arts and she quickly showed a natural aptitude for enchantment. By the time she was a teenager, she was already one of the most gifted magic users in the empire. Dahlia's parents were killed when she was just eighteen, during a civil war that tore the empire apart. She fled to the relative safety of the countryside, where she used her skills to help protect those who couldn't defend themselves. Over time, her reputation as an enchanter grew and she became famed for her ability to resist, deflect, and even block hostile magic. One day, Dahlia was asked to help protect a group of refugees who were being chased by soldiers. She used her magic to create a powerful illusion that fooled the soldiers into thinking that the refugees had disappeared. The illusion held long enough for the refugees to escape but it cost Dahlia dearly; she collapsed from exhaustion afterwards and never recovered fully from that magical exertion. Despite this, she continued to use her powers for good and became known as one of the most benevolent enchanters in history.
