this song is unreleased until now; it was created for a song contest using Bay Area band the park’s sample pack on the producer platform kits. i lost :P but the vulnerability in this *record* still haunts me to this day, which is why i thought it might make for an interesting web3 drop.
“Better Now (Freestyle)” also feels like the natural B-side to my latest release, a cover of Coi Leray + Metro Boomin’s “Self Love” from the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack. they share the same confessional, urgent tone; i borrowed visual components from the “Self Love” MV to drive that connection home since I like the idea of web3 drops that parallel but don’t exactly mirror what i’m doing outside of web3.
while i’ve been in the web3 world a while, this is actually my first music NFT drop, so it’s my genesis everything and genesis sound drop. i’ve been making music a long time and just finally beginning to hit my stride as an artist-producer. i hope you’ll join me in this journey, and above all else, put the music first!
