Lyrics:<br/>I’m a butterfly<br/>flapping for you guys<br/>It’s just a costume<br/>I put on in my room<br/>Composed by Jeffrey Alan Scudder on December 29, 2019<br/>This instance of “Butterfly Cosplayer,” recorded on April 13, 2022, and its supporting materials were produced for Ten Whistlegraphs.<br/>“Butterfly Cosplayer” is a longstanding icon of the practice. For the exhibition, this single-player whistlegraph is arranged for three players: Alex Freundlich, Camille Klein, and Jeffrey Alan Scudder, rendered in paint pen on a Papelarias Emílio Braga notebook.<br/>Whistlegraphs are audio-visual digital artworks performed manually by drawing and singing. Every whistlegraph results in a poetic image through the performance of a graphic score.
