WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA STENCILED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, "5" gallon capacity mark to top of rim, slightly ovoid form with two incised medial grooves, beaded neck ring, rounded flat-top rim, and two arched handles, Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "HALL & GREENLAND", brushed cobalt horizontal flower with leaves above, and "5" flanked by a boldly painted trumpet flower on each side, strip below rim and across medial grooves, additional cobalt at handle terminals. The pottery of Cromwell Hall and Norval Greenland, Uniontown, PA. 1864-1870.
