If you've visited New Zealand you may know this is the famous Hooker Lake near the base of Aoraki / Mount Cook, NZ’s tallest mountain. I'm often in this area but have only done this walk a couple of times, I'm glad I made the journey this time, the freezing conditions drew me here. It was a beautifully sunny and clear day but still very cold. It was a fun hike up to the lake, the track had a lot of ice on it and it was slow in parts.
