描述
"Freedom to Run" is a tribute to the most dedicated and hardcore Pepe Maxi of them all, Hugo Faz.
Hugo has been an unbeatable force in highlighting Pepe culture. He has painted every nook and cranny of his own body in green and then gone off into the Rio de Janeiro night to Fight for The Freedom to Transact. Keeping true to himself and his art, he did it fully naked and with the biggest smile on his face.
Hugo is a force to be reckoned with when standing up for his art, beliefs, values, and all the people he believes in. There are so many of us that have felt the power of his support.
We thought we could return the love.
When thinking about an artist that could create this piece with all the love and artistry it demanded, one name immediately stood out: Naime Pakniyat.
Naime's art, talent, and unique capacity to drive emotion into everything she creates has had us hooked since we first met her. But there was another reason we immediately thought of Naime: we wanted to take Hugo's free flowing, natural, curvy, fleshy art to the least-likely place it could end up: pixel art.
The challenge was monumental. Naime out did herself. She has created a piece that pays an unequivocal tribute to Hugo Faz and is undoubtedly Naime. She has mustered her pixels into transmitting the Meme Maxi culture, showcasing her unique talent, humor, and deep love for The Memes Community. A love many, many of us share.
Inspired by "The Freedom Marathon" by Hugo Faz in The Meme Lab by 6529, we present "Freedom to Run", a collaboration between The Means and Naime Pakniyat for our What Do You Mean? collection.
This beautiful "rendition" of Hugo's original piece features Hugo Faz running in the São Silvestre Marathon in São Paulo, his Casa Nua project, and Punk6529, Meysvm, Rakesh Pulapa, RPO, Sonia, Naime Pakniyat, Teexels, 6529er, Burnasso and Blocknoob as his running team.
Naime has created a fabulous work of art that embodies Meme Maxi culture and her art form, giving it a humorous twist that will have you smiling each time you see or remember it.
We are deeply honored Naime accepted the challenge and profoundly grateful for the chance to see just how beautifully she does her pixel magic.
We are overjoyed to be able to pay tribute to Hugo, one of the most loved and respected artists and builders in WEB3.
We hope you love this piece as much as we've loved being part of making it come to life.
