at this time in history, ecuador is facing yet another political crisis in which indigenous-lead social justice movements are on strike to demand action from the ecuadorian government against growing wealth and income inequality, the erosion of worker's rights, unemployment, increase in violent crime, and state-sanctioned destruction of the cultural and biological patrimony of the indigenous nations and all ecuadorians. these protests have turned violent at a time of political polarization and growing tension. amplified by what can only be described as social media warfare. and they are happening at the time of the ancient indigenous celebration of inti raymi, the june solsitce. without the sun there would be no life, as we know it, on earth. but too much of its radiation can give someone cancer. this is the creative and destructive force of nature. and we're all nature's children. analog video glitch processing + digital video feeback + original music a video of the sun sent to digital video feedback device (Strange Loop by Melted Electronics) and this signal is sent to an analog video glitch effects processor (Premium Cable by Big Pauper Modified Circuitry) and re-scanned from two CRT TVs with a Canon M50 camera. original music produced in Ableton.
