As young parents of two toddlers, we choose to look at this from the point of view of parents teaching their children hard lessons. Discipline is always an issue, with a quick division between parents acting as good cop and bad cop. The educator, the disciplinarian, is usually seen as the mean one, the evil one, the harsh parent who will later be blamed by the child. Everything we do for our children is for their own good - even when it means one of us has to take the harsher position. So why does the Devil need Death at his side?
