描述

Flowers for my Sukeban was a project of sheer indulgence in process. Each stage was an experiment with no end goal planned - simply running with whatever felt right before moving on to the next stage. This is something I would not typically do when creating art, usually, I am working to realise and visualise an existing idea or concept.

Search for 'Flowers for my Sukeban' within my Twitter/X feed for deeper insight.

The process started with picking flowers from the garden with my children. We placed them in between sheets of coloured paper and boiled the package for an hour to create an abstract flower-imprinted paper which I then scanned at high resolution.

Using Stable Diffusion I created abstract photographic/typographic compositions of Japanese biker girls. I used old typographic MidJourney outputs to influence the compositions and used variables to influence the content.

Then, I used Magnific AI Style Transfer with the Biker Girl outputs and the Flower Paper to create abstract floral compositions which were then fed into Runway to create morphing animations. The paper scans were also used to create a morphing dreamlike sequence.

All elements were composed/glitched together within Adobe After Effects.

The soundtrack was created using AI-generated elements and tracked to the animation.

What is a Sukeban I hear you ask?
