描述
BEYOND THE BURQA aka "Keep the Fire Burning" is a thought-provoking art piece created in support of the women's rights movement in Iran. This frame animation serves as a visual commentary on the tragic incident involving Mahsa Amini and the subsequent riots in Iran.
The animation begins with a dolly zoom effect, drawing the viewer closer to a group of women wearing burqas. The arrangement of the figures resembles the shape of bowling pins, symbolizing the resilience and unity of these women. As the narrative unfolds, a hand enters from the right edge of the screen and holds one of the figures, reminiscent of holding a bottle.
The symbolism takes a powerful turn as the figure held by the hand transforms into a Molotov cocktail. The thread hanging from the cocktail signifies the potential for resistance and action. In the final two frames, the Molotov cocktail ignites into flames, representing the readiness to challenge oppression and injustice.
"Keep the Fire Burning" aims to spark discussions about women's rights, freedom of expression, and the ongoing struggle for equality in Iran. By presenting this art piece with an alternate catchy or provocative title, it can further engage viewers and draw attention to the urgency of the cause.
