Arielle was born to a modest family of scholars in the small town of Laysmouth. Growing up, she loved to explore the ever-growing library her parents managed. Increasingly, her attention was drawn to the ancient tomes that told of forgotten deities and long-dead heroes. She became particularly fascinated by the legends surrounding The Nine – a group of powerful individuals who had saved the world from destruction centuries ago. As she grew older, Arielle began to feel a strong connection to one of The Nine – a goddess known as Il-yr-a. She started having strange dreams in which she would be called upon to save the world from some great threat. When she awoke from these dreams, she would find herself filled with a sense of purpose and determination. Despite her parents' objections, Arielle decided to become a cleric – someone who could spread the word of Il-yr-a and help others achieve the same spiritual connection that she had found. After completing her training, Arielle set out into the world to do just that. She has since faced many challenges and overcome innumerable obstacles, but each time she has emerged stronger and more resolute in her convictions. Her work has earned her much respect – both among those who follow her goddess and those who do not – and she is widely considered one of the most powerful clerics in all the land. This is only further cemented by the great deed she performed that brought her fame and glory: successfully leading a crusade against an undead army that threatened to overrun the kingdom.
