Fairytale places really do exist ... The Abbey of Mont St Michel, Normandy, France. Built during the 8th Century, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for attracting some of the greatest minds and manuscript illuminators in Europe. It was a real life fairytale dream to visit this incredible location after having it on my bucketlist for over 20 years. It's hard to describe the feeling of finally seeing something with your own eyes after looking at it in pictures for so many years, but all I can say is that it was one of the best moments I've ever had while travelling and photographing over the past 10 years. Although I was not there for the high tide season, I knew the image I wanted to create from this location was one that could be seen in real life. Everything you see in this composite is real, just mirrored to reflect the beauty at high tide season.
