NUMBERS is a blend of chaos and order - random, unpredictable, yet structured. It offers a glimpse into our world and the digital space we navigate, a space dominated by data, algorithms, and metrics. In social networks, everything revolves around numbers: followers, reach, subscribers, likes, sales, tips, shares, screen time, social scoring, and more. Artists can now receive tips through these platforms, expanding their work and presence. However, the time invested in cultivating this presence is also quantified in numbers. Lifetime. We are at the dawn of a new creative economy, and once again, it's all about numbers. Stay RARE or better scale up? There is no right or wrong; there is only discovering and experimenting. The result is expressed in numbers. This Series of Artworks serves as a visual metaphor for this paradox, chaotic yet structured environment. NUMBERS began with the physicality of acrylic paint, initially applied to white copy paper with a spatula to capture the raw texture and organic movement of the medium. These images were then scanned and brought into the digital realm. Using HTML and JavaScript, the scanned images were split, randomly arranged, and reshuffled, creating an unpredictable yet harmonious composition of image blocks. These fragmented visuals were saved as .png layers, representing the digital deconstruction of the original physical artwork. To complete the artwork, each layer was refined and edited using GIMP, balancing randomness and intentionality. The final result is NUMBERS, a series of artworks that captures the interplay of order and chaos, much like the reality we navigate daily. It's all about NUMBERS.
