Nowadays, the art of doll-making in the world is used to introduce the rich culture of the countries. During the process of making dolls, lullabies, poems and memories of the villager life are introduced as well. Dolls in Taj-Mir, known as Dotuk, are not made just for playing, but they represent the culture of local community including their clothing, makeups, stories and other native customs.
Dotuk in the Tajmir dialect means little girl !
The people of Tajmir village are very poor and the income from making dolls is vital for them. Doll making is the main occupation of women in Tajmir village.
Dutuk is made of the clothes of the villagers and a button has been used instead of the doll's face. Dutuk is the first Iranian doll to be inscribed on Iran's National Cultural Heritage List.
