描述
New Zealand developed its first cases of the virus Covid 19 in February 2020. The country went into lockdown from 25th March until 27 April 2020. Senior citizens were advised to isolate from the earlier date of 21 March
I painted a flower every day during this time to give me a routine and provide a connection to the environment around me. My four children live in various parts of New Zealand as well as the United States. Each day I sent them a photo of the flower I had painted as a sign of love and support. At the end of this isolation period I had 37 painted images. After cutting them out I arranged them into the artwork titled Covid Conflation bringing together the themes of beauty of the world and the devastation that the corona virus was causing.
My art practice usually involves hand printing. I belong to Plateau Printers, a group of like-minded artists who support each other and exhibit their work.
