The umbrella maker produced and repaired umbrellas and worked in the rainiest or sunniest periods of the year, depending on the culture.
Until the 1950s and 1960s, when the poor economic conditions of the majority of the population allowed the purchase of just one umbrella for the whole family and there was a tendency not to throw anything away, "umbrella makers" were particularly sought after. And they managed to survive, despite the limited profits obtained from repairs. Largely disappeared, it was spread all over the world (Chinese handicrafts famous), they remain in rural areas and in the luxury handicraft market.
