Although 2022 was a year full of despair and uncertainty regarding world
events, for me personally it was - lovely.
It was my first full year of being a full time artist which saw me develop my
practice further, introducing new elements; some included within the piece, and refine other areas of my work. This artwork signifies the joy of the year with the bright colours and graphical patterns while still paying homage to the surreal nature of working as a full time artist. All the elements are there because they have featured in my work to date in some shape or form and I wanted something that works to my strengths and style, while maintaining reference to my past year. This started out as a charcoal drawing, but soon became a full digital extravaganza. In conclusion, 2022 was good to me.
