描述
Digital artwork combining 3D creation and touches of paint, depicting a naked white-haired woman with the phrase “Money is an excellent servant, but a terrible master” on her body, surrounded by twirling golden draperies, frozen in space, and neon lights at the top, one of which over-saturates her face to emphasize the contrast between the aestheticism of the gold and hair around her, and the dramatic expression of her face and body, covered in black streaks and spots, with a few golden areas.
Whether in art or in life, money used wisely can free from constraints and ease the mind, but when it becomes a sole purpose it can erase moral values and dominate the soul.
Inspired by P.T. Barnum's quote “Money is in some respects life's fire: it is a very excellent servant, but a terrible master.”
Phineas Taylor Barnum, also known as P.T. Barnum, was an American showman and entrepreneur of the 19th century.
Famous for founding the Barnum & Bailey circus, known as “The Greatest Show on Earth”. Some of his shows, such as the exhibition of people with physical abnormalities or disabilities, were criticized for being unethical and exploitative.
His career was launched by the sale of tickets for a public autopsy on the body of a slave Joice Seth, advertising her as “former nursemaid to George Washington, aged 161”.
