The Spaceships: Where do you start with a spaceship? There are so many connotations it’s hard to know what comes from where sometimes. Where the inspiration starts.
Spacecraft, interstellar vessels, rocket ships, call them whatever, at their base they’re vehicles that transport people and things, but for me, they’re so much more than that. They’re the transporter of dreams, of hopes, expectations, and aspirations.
That’s the beauty of them, they’re more than big hulks of technology, they’re the vehicle that’ll build an empire, or escape from one. They’re a self-contained world, a city in the sky, or the means to start a new civilization, somewhere far out in the cosmos.
The ships here, named Empire, Testarossa, Atmos and Sparrow are all these things and more. You’re not only looking at a ship, you’re looking at a world, and all the people and experiences that world contains. Mystery and wonder, love and promise, anger and sorrow, and within, all the stories that you can imagine.
You think of these ships, and they’re more than big hulks of technology, they’re the vehicle that’ll start a new life for the people on board. Heading out into the great beyond, it’s like the first explorers of the world. This ship is called, Atmos, they’re firing themselves off into the unknown, a city in the sky, the means to start a new civilization, somewhere far out in the universe, and it can travel in space and in atmospheres to help the transition and colonisation process.
