Locked Down: A collection of digital paintings created while being locked down. I was travelling until Covid-19 broke out. Suddenly, travelling around the world as we knew it was over. Unsure about the future, afraid, and isolated in a foreign country; Painting was my coping mechanism for getting through this pandemic. This collection of paintings is a record of the highs and lows of the past year.
“Isolation”: The complete separation from others of a person suffering from contagious or infectious disease
Sammy Khalid is a Concept Designer / Illustrator from Dublin, Ireland. He works remotely as a freelancer as he travels the world. Previous to this, he was living in London working in house as a concept artist at Painting Practice. He has worked on film titles at the highest level, including shows like Black Mirror, Black Sails and Films such as Disney's Artemis Fowl.
