This is only the second time I've been able to photograph the aurora, and coincidentally the second time I've been to the badlands in Alberta.
The first time I caught the aurora was maybe the first time I pointed my camera at the stars, I didn't know that it was on the horizon, but the more photos I took the more I could see the subtle dance of it all.
My first time in Alberta my family did a raft trip through the badlands and I remember the alien landscape and very different weather igniting a photographic intention in me. To one day come back and capture the strange beauty I saw in it.
