Life Without Water is one of the first songs Kena Rose wrote entirely on her own. She brought it to her dad, Genzo, and the production and recording was done within a couple hours. The next day, Kena said, “let’s go shoot a video!” Despite Genzo’s protests about the cold, rainy weather, the lateness in the day, and the high probability of hitting rush hour traffic, the two headed out, armed with a small setup to film, and by midnight that night the video was complete. The speed at which it all came together allowed for no overthinking, which resulted in one of the rawest, most honest performances from Kena.
