Orcas Island to Anacortes

As the ferry was getting closer to reaching it's destination, back to Anacortes from Orcas Island, I decided to head towards the back of the boat to take in the views one last time for the day. When I got there I found this woman, standing by herself, soaking it all in. The beauty of the water, islands in the distance, in the late afternoon light. It's moments like these that I love capturing as a photographer. There's so much we don't know about this woman, and what experience she might be having alone on the back of that ferry. We get to create and apply whatever story we want, without ever knowing the real one.
