Loki’s weapon of choice was Lævateinn, a scepter-shaped blade, which he concealed most of the time. He would stealthily stab his opponents when they least expected it, right after playing a trick on them. This piece reminded me of Loki’s ruse: the aurora opens mid-sky like the two pointy ends of his scepter or the horns of his helmet. Also, the generally dull and desolate marshy landscape would certainly be the type of place where you would have to square off with the God of deception!
